The Broadcast Engineer has the ability to diagnose problems and service affecting issues across the 2rn transmission network, possesses an understanding of the systems sufficient enough to perform first line maintenance and carry out the remedial action required prior to any engineering escalation. The role of a Broadcast Engineer working in the NMC is to control and monitor the day to day operational status of the 2rn FM Radio, Digital Radio and Digital television transmission network to identify issues and perform remedial action across this network as necessary, by the use of remote control technologies and graphical user interfaces.
